Officially called "America250" for the nationwide efforts, Harrison County Judge Chad Sims has released a 1-minute video explaining what America250 is all about in our local and regional level.  Watch the video to learn more about how you can be involved with our celebration, and look over our website to discover more about our history, upcoming events, and even sign up to volunteer and participate in our Freedom Fest 250 events.

Freedom Fest 250 is being planned for a 17-day period beginning June 19, 2026 and going through July 5, 2026.   The all-encompassing festival will include Juneteenth celebration, a week dedicated to Veterans, music celebration of our Boogie Woogie heritage, with a drone light show being planned for downtown

The Harrison County Texas America 250 Commission is looking for Seniors from the Class of 2026 from all schools (public and private) across Harrison County.  The senior will be volunteers that will spend some time researching topics at the Inez Hatley Research Center in downtown Marshall, using Google and AI to assist them "telling the historical story", and as a presenter of that story on a podcast show dedicated to the history of Harrison County Texas.
