If you're interested in serving, then you should familiarize yourself with the following materials before signing up.  We are following the programs created at the federal and state levels for implementing in local communities. We expect everyone to follow the program as agreed with the state and federal America250 Commissions.

Download the Making History at 250 Field Guide. The Field Guide was developed by the America 250 Commission to foster a way for communities to start planning for our nation's Semiquincentennial. They have identified five themes that can provide each of us with ways to reflect and contextualize how we came to be, how we have transformed into who we are, and how we can better create the more perfect union for future generations. The five themes are as follows:

  • Unfinished Revolutions (page 12)

  • Power of Place (page 13)

  • We The People (page 14)

  • American Experiment (page 15)

  • Doing History (page 16)

Download the 250th Anniversary Program Book. While you'll benefit from reviewing the Program Handbook in its entirety, the following Programming Ideas below are core to our engagement and planning activities.

  • K-12 and Youth Programs (page 9)

  • Communities Doing History (page 14)

  • Expanded Tour Offerings (page 16)

  • Reimagining Exhibitions (page 18)
