Apr 9, 2025

Commemoration and Re-enactment Event

Press Release - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Two Lights For Tomorrow:

A Historic Re-enactment at the Historic Harrison County Courthouse

Marshall, TX – April 9, 2025 – Harrison County Texas America 250 is thrilled to announce a unique two-hour event taking place at the Historic Harrison County Courthouse & Telegraph Park in downtown Marshall on Friday, April 18, 2025. This event will re-enact the iconic moment when Paul Revere hung two lanterns in Boston's North Church Tower, then set about on a horseback ride that warned of the coming British.

During this commemoration and celebration, two LED lanterns will be placed in the Historic Harrison County Courthouse to illuminate two beams of light up North Washington as we kick of more than 14 months of celebration events as we lead up to celebrating 250 years as "We The People of the United States of America".

This event symbolizes the original unifying event for our country 250 years ago. We will be commemorating Paul Revere and his ride while drawing attention to and honoring other less-known Patriots that spread the word on horseback. We also issue a challenge to the people in our communities to reflect on how we have evolved to become the Americans we have these past 250 years, then put forth civic pride and citizenship for creating our next 250 years.

The evening will also feature live entertainment from local military veteran and musician Kim Donnette, who will perform on the Telegraph Park Stage until 10 PM.
